Adam, Are you single?
No, I’m currently engaged to be married. Ok, ok… it’s not really a frequently asked question.
Is your peridot genuine? Why are your prices so low? (or some variation of this)
Yes – all of our peridot is genuine (natural). It is untreated also. All of our peridot was mined in the Xinjiang Province in China. We can give you great prices because we bought this huge bundle of peridot years ago direct from the mining company.
Does this come with some GIA or AGTA lab report stating it is authentic?
No. Why not? This increases the overall price to you significantly. I’ll give you an example. Let’s say we have a peridot on our site that we’re selling for $100. The AGTA charges about $130 for a lab report (this is with my membership discount). Now, we have to charge you $230. So, if you really want a lab report, let us know and we’ll get one for you—we’ll let you know exactly how much it will cost before we do too. So rather than making those gem labs rich beyond belief, we decided to leave it up to you. That’s why we created the DOUBLE YOUR MONEY BACK policy. We guarantee our gems are exactly what we state. If you find otherwise, we will give you double your money back, guaranteed.
Does the peridot look like the picture?
Well – for one, the picture is magnified a great deal. This will make imperfections visible that may otherwise be invisible without a magnification glass. We take our photos with a Canon SLR with the 100mm Macro Lens with daylight lamps. We try very hard to make certain to capture every detail. Unfortunately, color is one thing that is very hard to see correctly over a computer monitor. Each peridot on our website is unique—and has a unique picture. We do not use stock photos—or recycle our photos. The peridot you see will be the one you receive if you order it. Each one is truly one-of-a-kind.
What does the overall grade mean? (Any questions about our grading system)
This is not easy to answer quickly—so I prepared a whole page discussing our grading system. Please visit this page to learn more about our gemstone grading system
How much is your shipping?
Woah – are we supposed to charge for that? Right now, it is free. And we only ship insured guaranteed delivery via USPS Express Mail. We can ship to PO Boxes, military bases, and even International too. As long as you have an address, we can get it to you quickly (even if you can only find your house using position of the sun, and familiar trees or lamp posts).
Can I return it if I don’t like it?
Yes – as long as you return it within 30 days. Read our full policies for the full details. You will need to contact us for a return authorization. And you will get 100% of your money back (no pesky restocking fees).
Who is Rio Gems?
Rio Gems is the name of my company. Peridot Lovers is just the website name. Rio Gems does have its own website as well, but it doesn’t feature all of this unique large sized peridot.
Can you mount the peridot into a piece of jewelry for me?
Yes. As I mentioned in my about us, my dad owns a jewelry factory overseas. He designs and manufacturers for some very impressive quality-focused companies here. I can get some drawings made, and price some jewelry options for your specific peridot based on your unique sense of style. I need to learn more about you; for example, do you like a more antique look with mille grained edges and filigree or a bold modern look? Since each piece would be custom designed and made for you, it typically takes 3-6 weeks to manufacture. Because the factory is overseas, and it is my dad who owns it, I can pass on substantial price savings to you.
